The Noble Lineage
النَّسَبُ الشَّرِيف
“The unblemished, pure lineage of Muhammad ﷺ traced through Adnan to Prophet Ismail and Prophet Ibrahim عليهما السلام.”
Historical & Scholarly Account
Rasulullah ﷺ was born into the noblest house of Quraysh, the Banu Hashim. His ancestry is authenticated without dispute back to Adnan, direct descendant of Prophet Ismail son of Ibrahim عليهما السلام: Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abd al-Muttalib ibn Hashim ibn Abd Manaf ibn Qusayy ibn Kilab. In an authentic Hadith recorded in Sahih Muslim, the Prophet ﷺ stated: 'Allah chose Kinanah from the children of Ismail, and chose Quraysh from Kinanah, and chose Banu Hashim from Quraysh, and chose me from Banu Hashim.' His lineage was shielded from immorality through every generation.
