Building the Prophet's Mosque (Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi)
بِنَاءُ المَسْجِدِ النَّبَوِيِّ الشَّرِيف
Historical & Scholarly Account
The land selected by Al-Qaswa' belonged to two orphan boys, Sahl and Suhayl. Despite their offer to gift it, the Prophet ﷺ insisted on paying full fair value. The Prophet ﷺ personally carried unbaked mud bricks and palm trunks alongside the Sahabah, singing poetry of hope: 'O Allah, there is no true life except the life of the Hereafter, so forgive the Ansar and the Muhajirun!' The mosque was a simple, unadorned sanctuary with earth flooring, palm tree pillars, and thatched palm leaves. Attached to it was **Al-Suffah**, a shaded residential terrace for poor, devoted students of knowledge like Abu Hurairah.
