Blessed Dress, Turban, & Love for Fragrance
لِبَاسُهُ وَطِيبُهُ وَسَمْتُهُ الشَّرِيف ﷺ
Classical Shama'il Narration
The Prophet's dress was simple, dignified, and clean. His favorite garment was the *Qamis* (tunic), and his favorite color was clean white. He also wore Yemeni striped robes (Hibarh) and green cloaks. On the Day of Fath Makkah, he entered wearing a black turban. He loved pleasant fragrance and never refused perfume (Itr or musk). Anas ibn Malik رضي الله عنه narrated: 'I never smelled ambergris, musk, or anything more fragrant than the natural fragrance of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, nor did I ever touch silk or brocade softer than his blessed palm.'
حُبِّبَ إِلَيَّ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا النِّسَاءُ وَالطِّيبُ، وَجُعِلَتْ قُرَّةُ عَيْنِي فِي الصَّلَاة
“Made beloved to me from your world are good fragrance, and the supreme coolness of my eyes was placed in prayer.”
Outer cleanliness, dignity in attire, and pleasant scent reflect inner spiritual beauty and bring tranquility to those around us.
