Blessed Smile & Gentle Mien
صِفَةُ ضَحِكِهِ وَتَبَسُّمِهِ ﷺ
Classical Shama'il Narration
Jarir ibn Abdillah al-Bajali رضي الله عنه said: 'Since the day I embraced Islam, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ never withheld permission for me to see him, nor did he ever look at me except with a radiant smile on his blessed face.' Abdullah ibn al-Harith narrated: 'I have never seen anyone who smiled more often than the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' His laughter was a gentle, noble smile (Tabassum) that revealed teeth as clean and bright as hailstones.
مَا رَآنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُنْذُ أَسْلَمْتُ إِلَّا تَبَسَّمَ فِي وَجْهِي
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never saw me since I became Muslim except that he smiled into my face.”
A smile is an act of charity (Sadaqah). The Prophet ﷺ used his warm smile to disarm strangers, comfort the grieving, and make every person feel like the most cherished soul.
